About the Founder of The EquineFlow Approach for Equine Assisted Coaching
Founder Monique brings the best of multiple worlds into one approach for Equine Assisted Coaching: profound lived experiences, global corporate executive insights, world expedition wisdom, over 40 years of equestrian experience, and the perspective of having lived in four countries and speaking four languages.
With over two decades of experience in European consultancy firms, Monique Ravesloot has empowered global C-suite executives of multinationals to drive organizational transformation by reshaping culture, processes, and leadership practices.
Her journey to founding EquineFlow began in 2005, when she worked as a business consultant with a Dutch consultancy group, coaching top executives to optimize efficiency across multinational corporations. During this time, she participated in a corporate leadership event at a horse farm, where she experienced firsthand the profound impact of horse-guided leadership training. Inspired by the results, Monique vowed to bring this transformative approach into the mainstream.
In 2010, after moving to the US, Monique partnered with a neuroscientist to develop an innovative, horse-guided human transformation approach called EquineFlow. The method blends neuroscience and equine experience in multisensory farm environments to help shift people from a sympathetic to a parasympathetic nervous system state, restoring access to a deep, innate source of intelligence. EquineFlow uses the working name omnicognition for it, though clients are encouraged to define for themselves what it is. “We just teach them how to tap into it,” she says. “Once access to omnicognition is restored, the body and mind can resolve any issue, to any problem, by itself.” This process drastically reshapes how people and organizations achieve sticky, sustainable breakthroughs, personally and professionally.
By 2018, demand for certification in the EquineFlow approach grew, leading to the first class of six Certified EquineFlow Practitioners graduating from EquineFlow University in 2019. EquineFlow continued to expand, even during the pandemic, with 16 more practitioners trained in 2020. In 2023, the organization opened new campuses in Siler City, NC, and the Netherlands, catering to an international student community.
By 2025, EquineFlow had grown to 50 trained practitioners across six nationalities and installed a leadership board to oversee sustainable and ethical growth. In 2026, the virtual university will be improved to increase accessibility. EquineFlow hopes to begin quantitative research into its effectiveness in 2027.
EquineFlow's impact is global, as Monique’s vision to integrate the transformative power of horses and neuroscience into leadership development continues to inspire and empower people around the world.
Privately, Monique has overcome personal challenges including domestic abuse, sexual abuse, anxiety, C-PTSD, NDE, deployment, divorce, death, grief, medical trauma, and being a disaster survivor. These experiences gave her deep insight into what works in growth, transcendence, and processing of intense lived experiences—as well as a heightened sensitivity to people’s squirrely thoughts and swirly sensations. She often feels like her clients’ words pop in her head before they speak them.
Monique has traveled the world solo, visiting with remote tribes in the Sahara and Taman Negara Rainforest to understand the human mind across cultures. She’s been to areas of deep conflict such as North Korea, Vietnam, and Laos, and walked through concentration camps in Cambodia, Germany, and the Netherlands. She’s visited sacred sites including mosques in Turkey and Morocco, Buddhist temples in Japan and South Korea, Mayan temples in Central America, and Native American reservations in the US.
She holds advanced micro and macro certifications in transformational coaching and neuroscience, systemic coaching, project management, change leadership, natural horsemanship, and art therapy. She reads a book on human behavior most weeks.
With 30+ years of experience coaching horse owners on understanding horse behavior, Monique lives on her certified wildlife habitat in South Carolina with her son Finn (14), her partner Mark, four horses, and many formerly feral cats. She’s published eight articles in American magazines.
