EQUINE ASSISTED LEADERSHIP RETREATS

GET US IN THE ARENA

SPARK IMAGINATION. THINK BIG. LEAD WISE.

Ready to revolutionize your people's performance?
Do you want your people to achieve meaningful results and function better? Tired of ineffective training sessions? Looking for an out of the box way to challenge and transform thinking skills? Come join the herd! Bring your team to our horse arena in the Upstate of SC and watch as they experience a profound shift in their approach to leadership thanks to experiential learning that includes interacting with unbridled horses in their natural habitat.

Why horses? It's simple. Horses provide honest, immediate feedback unlike anything else. In our arena, filled with props and free roaming horses, things get real pretty quick. Masks are dropped and perceived limitations are challenged and overcome. Your team creates life size symbolic representations of their barriers, that help them identify and confront hidden roadblocks hindering their progress. With the guidance of our horses, and powerful neurocognitive exercises, they'll discover how to move beyond cognitive rigidity.

They learn navigate obstacles with the horses that allow them develop strategic solutions to complex problems that zoom right into the heart of the matter.
Exciting? You betcha! We typically hear that our leadership retreats uncover invisible yet complex problems that have been festering underneath the surface, that everyone intuitively felt, but that nobody could puts words on, and that, like a rotten apple, slowly undermined everyone's ability to do their job well. This isn't just another training session; it's an powerful learning experience that will keep them talking for a long time and that gets sticky results that are applied immediately.

We gained the insight that everyone needs to adapt to a changing world; we must adapt ourselves to the other side to meet others where they are. We learned to take time to prepare, adapt & achieve. As a team, we now agree to hold each other more accountable. It really was a great experience; an interesting opportunity- very different from other activities we've been involved with, and a novel approach. A great platform to observe behavioral leadership outside the confines of an office". Gareth O'Hara, Chief Sales Officer, Paxton Access, UK

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Your team is invited to interact directly with unbridled horses in an enclosed arena with life sized props such as barrels, cones, poles,  hoops, and more. After a pragmatic introduction and safety brief, teams are introduced to the herd. Teams are given an assignment related to the topic of your choice (such as leadership, team building, innovation, strategy etc. ). The assignments range from simple to complex.

Participants are set free to brainstorm, collaborate, innovate and carry out the assignment to the best of their ability within a set time, mimicking the parameters of important projects and tasks. Based on what the horses sense in the team's intention and comfort level, the animals cooperate, ignore or resist.

The horses read nonverbal clues and innately sense if the team is comfortable and if the team's intent is aligned toward a single objective or if there are invisible dynamics like lack of trust in oneself or in others. Horses are sentient beings without a political agenda. They are unaware of position, salary or prior relationships, and respond authentically to what is happening in the moment and to the energy shifts within the teams.

Your team is frequently invited to reflect and process on their observations and experiment with different approaches. Unlike in the office, where new approaches require careful, strategic planning and implementation,  with the horses, teams get to experiment with suspending action, accessing intuition and applying deep knowing, and receive instant unbiased feedback from the horses whether their changes are effective, pragmatic, and drive the result they seek.

Top three takeaways are identified and prepared for presentation to management with clear action steps, owners and dead lines. Teams return to work with increased confidence, maximized clarity and an ability to value, motivate and inspire the best in both themselves and the people they work with.

"I learned a lot about myself and a lot about the team. I also learned I am super uncomfortable with uncertainty. I use knowledge to inoculate often, and tend to eject or freeze when I can’t. Learning the language between two brain states was huge. It has given me great language and a great way to check in with others and with myself." Faith A.

I think our team needed this! It really opened my eyes to what part of me I want to bring to the table. I learned you choose who you want to be, how you handle situations. Today will help me be a better team member, both in my personal and professional life." S.S.

WHY NOW?

Because you
  • Need powerful results that matter, and other training or retreats were too superficial or just didn't do anything, because they didn't touch what needed to be exposed and resolved.
  • Want to observe your people in a pragmatic, challenging environment and understand the dynamics in your teams.
  • Want them to experience for themselves what they are capable of doing if they optimize the way they work together from intuitive, embodied leadership that transcends the current status quo. Sometimes telling them isn't enough; you want them to embody their potential.
  • Are tired of the restraints of indoor training. You understand that growth starts at the edge of the comfort zone and you want your people to experience this themselves.
  • If you invest today, you know you'll be grateful a year from now when you watch your team tackle challenging situations with clients with ease and find innovative solutions to remove pesky bottlenecks in important processes.

All because you got them in the arena with the horses. Go you!   Let's talk soon?
