Learn more about Allison:
Allison Ragan is a Certified EquineFlow Practitioner (CEP1) with a strong background in nutrition and movement therapy. A lifelong love affair with horses began at age 3. After coming up in traditional riding programs and participating in horse shows, she began to feel a disconnect between her initial love for horses and the means-to-an-end approach in the show ring. One that often disregards the perspective of the horse. Allison's winding journey led her to the, fairly new at the time, field of equine-assisted psychotherapy which seemed a perfect fit for how she wanted to be with horses and humans.
After completing a degree from Anderson University in behavioral sciences and becoming a certified Equine Specialist in the EAGALA program she intended to begin a career helping other women and girls navigate the, sometimes difficult, world we live in. However, she soon was married and had two daughters and continued to work in the hospitality field as a catering manager, waitress and bartender to contribute to the family income.
Always keeping a horse in her life, she knew the time would come when she could return to her original dream of making the world a better place for horses and humans. As dreams deferred can do, hers made space for a bigger picture; one that includes helping women and girls have a healthy relationship with food and their bodies through intuitive eating and body movement such as yoga inspired practices. As an EquineFlow practitioner Allison utilizes science-backed therapeutic coaching modalities to create movement and flow in her client's lives and businesses. Allison also works with restaurant owners and managers to improve the culture of their workplace and build community through food.
