What is EquineFlow?
|
EquineFlow is an evidence-based, horse-approved approach to equine-assisted coaching and training, founded by Monique Ravesloot. It began in 2009 at WolfOak Farm in Piedmont, SC, as a program for horse guided human development and corporate training. In 2019, EquineFlow expanded to train and certify practitioners across four levels of equine assisted coaching specializations. In 2020, a virtual service called InterFlow was introduced to support clients during the COVID-19 lockdowns. In 2023, Equinist was launched as a corporate division to help executives build organizations that benefit both people and the world.
The EquineFlow Approach integrates various philosophies and techniques, focusing on experiential, trans-consciousness, somatic, trauma-informed, client-centered, permission-based, and play-based methods. It is grounded in evidence, supported by neuroscience, and approved by free-roaming horses. |
Who is it for?
|
The EquineFlow Approach supports both humanity and equinity, with each practitioner connecting to a specific audience. Certified EquineFlow Practitioners work with clients from all walks of life, including underprivileged youth in underserved communities (and their often exhausted caregivers), teenagers needing support, cult survivors, women feeling stuck, children processing past experiences, and leaders in education and corporate sectors. Each year, we expand our team of Certified EquineFlow Practitioners, allowing us to reach new demographics and locations. Currently, we have 41 trained practitioners from six different nationalities.

Why is it needed?
|
We discovered that systemic challenges affect everyone, from everyday individuals to CEOs of multinationals. Life can be tough, and in our complex work, we need a reliable connection to our innate intelligence and power. When we integrate all parts of ourselves, we become better problem-solvers, both individually and collectively. Without this integration, people often react to circumstances instead of responding strategically, which can unintentionally cause harm that triggers a cycle of reactions.
This is where EquineFlow and InterFlow (our model without horses) come in. We guide you back to your intelligent, powerful mind through experiential interventions that follow your natural curiosity and flow. Our approach helps you pause instead of reacting, find answers within instead of relying on external advice, and allow solutions to emerge when the time is right. We believe reconnecting with innate intelligence and power shields us from the manipulation and indoctrination prevalent in society. We teach you how to recognize reactive lived experience responses in yourself and others and distinguish them from advanced strategic innate intelligence. This wisdom exists in everyone, from troubled teens to burned-out executives, though it can be hard to access during difficult times. It’s a privilege to witness clients reconnect with their innate intelligence, repair that relationship, and work together to allow solutions to emerge naturally. This process helps them improve their own lives and contribute positively to society. |
What is the intended outcome?
|
The intended outcome is sustainable, widespread well-being for all and everything. If an effort doesn’t contribute to long-term, trans-generational wellness for everyone involved, then why invest energy in it?

Why horses? |
In the EquineFlow Approach, horses serve multiple roles, with their primary role being to help clients immerse in nature and flow with the rhythms of life. This allows clients to relax, breathe easier, and take a break from the constant cycle of analyzing, planning, fixing, and worrying that often dominates daily life. In a state of flow, clients can adopt an observer’s perspective on the world, gaining space to face challenges without being overwhelmed by them.
Each day with the horses is unique—sometimes clients simply observe, other times they interact, or they may just immerse themselves in the presence of a free-roaming herd, sharing space without agenda. The horses seem to naturally provide what’s needed in the moment. If someone needs confrontation to address fears, the horses may provoke that energy. If a person struggles with setting boundaries, a horse might challenge their personal space. If someone is holding back tears, a horse might quietly stand beside them, helping those emotions surface. Every session includes time for quiet reflection. No two sessions are the same; each flows with what emerges in the client’s life, fostering hope, joy, and growth. |
